Where to Trick-or-Treat in Boise: Our Favorite Neighborhoods

by Lysi Bishop Real Estate

Boise knows how to do Halloween! Some neighborhoods have turned trick-or-treating into a full-fledged tradition, with homeowners spending weeks preparing elaborate displays and stocking up on candy. Others offer that nostalgic, old-fashioned Halloween experience, with glowing porch lights, jack-o'-lanterns, and streets full of costumed kids. Here are a few of our favorite spots around town.

Harrison Boulevard | North End

Harrison Boulevard deserves a spot among the best Halloween streets in the country! This North End landmark draws thousands of trick-or-treaters each year, with homeowners putting on an incredible show. The historic homes provide a spectacular backdrop for decorations that get more creative every year. The boulevard closes to vehicle traffic on Halloween night, and the coveted full-size candy bars have become part of the tradition.

Warm Springs Avenue | East End

Boise's historic Warm Springs Avenue gives Harrison some friendly competition. The grand architecture and mature trees create a naturally atmospheric setting, and many residents embrace the holiday with elaborate decorations, spooky displays, and homemade haunted houses. It's a favorite for admiring the homes as much as the Halloween creativity.

Boise's North End

Don't limit your North End Halloween visit to Harrison Boulevard! The surrounding streets are full of charming Craftsman bungalows, historic cottages, and wonderfully decorated front porches. The walkable blocks and beautiful old trees make this one of our favorite neighborhoods for a classic evening of trick-or-treating.

Harris Ranch | Southeast Boise

Harris Ranch has become a favorite among families in southeast Boise. The neighborhood's sidewalks, parks, and welcoming front porches set the scene for an evening of trick-or-treating. You'll find plenty of festive decorations and neighbors getting into the spirit of the holiday.

Collister & Sunset | Northwest Boise

These established northwest Boise neighborhoods are great for a more leisurely Halloween outing. Residents get creative with their decorations, and Collister's neighborhood scarecrow contest adds another fun local tradition. Expect a more relaxed pace than the crowds along Harrison Boulevard.

Depot Bench | Boise Bench

West Kootenai Street is one to know! The Depot Bench area has developed a reputation for creative Halloween displays, including the memorable "Zombie Babyland." The surrounding streets, historic homes, and established landscaping make this a fun part of town to explore on Halloween night.

JUMP-or-Treat | Downtown Boise

JUMP puts its own creative spin on Halloween with a community celebration featuring giant inflatables, imaginative installations, and treats handed out by local organizations. It's especially popular with families looking for an organized holiday event. Check JUMP's calendar for this year's details.

More Halloween Fun!

Another option includes Trunk-or-Treats, which are coordinated treat-or-treating events where multiple participants hand out candy in a specific public area. See a comprehensive guide of opportunities here.
